Flagstaff’s Commission on Diversity Awareness will celebrate Race Equality Week with the fifth annual “Drums, Dance & Song” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at Heritage Square in downtown Flagstaff.
The program includes:
- Ballet Folklorico de Colores at 11 a.m.
- Strider Schmitz, Scottish bagpiper, at 11:45 a.m.
- Sambatuque, Brazilian drum and dance, at 12:15 p.m.
- Kel Mockinbird Grammy Nominee and Native American flutist, at 1 p.m.
- The Flagstaff Unified School District Hopi Dancers at 2 p.m.,
- Melodic Hispanic singer Clove at 2:30 p.m.
- The Springhill Baptist Church choir at 3 p.m.
- Polka Katzen at 3:30 p.m.
The celebration also features local craft vendors food. Vote on the best diversity t-shirt.
