Heidi Roux, a member of the Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council, was one of 40 distinguished professionals honored when Valle del Sol and Univision Radio-Phoenix presented their 6th annual “40 Hispanic Leaders under 40” luncheon ceremony on Oct. 3, 2012 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa.
The awards were presented by Wells Fargo.
Roux recently joined Expect More Arizona as a community mobilizer, where she will support grassroots and community partnerships in Northern Arizona, the organization reported on its website.
Prior to joining Expect More Arizona, Roux led the outreach efforts of a federal grant to raise awareness and reduce child maltreatment in Northern Arizona, where she gained experience in working with Arizona’s Tribal communities. Previous to this position, she coordinated various projects to prevent gang violence and sexual assault. Roux also brings experience in conducting focus groups in Spanish and English across the nation to better understand the pulse of communities on a number of issues. She is also involved in her community, including serving as a board member of the Coconino County Hispanic Advisory Council and the Coconino Coalition for Children and Youth.
The honorees of the “40 Hispanic Leaders under 40” were also included in the September edition of Latino Perspectives Magazine.
